Earn £171-£191 Per Day Delivering Across the Scottish Highlands
Courier Driver Jobs in Tain, Dingwall, Inverness & Surrounding Highland Communities
Looking for a driving job where your daily route includes the Scottish Highlands instead of city traffic?
Pegasus Couriers is recruiting reliable courier delivery drivers across Tain, Dingwall, Nigg, Inverness, Invergordon, Alness, and nearby Highland towns. You’ll deliver parcels to homes and local businesses while travelling through some of the most spectacular landscapes in the United Kingdom.
This opportunity suits people who prefer independence over office work. If you enjoy being on the road, managing your own delivery route, and working across Highland communities, this role offers strong daily pay and dependable work.
Our drivers keep the Highlands moving. Local residents, rural businesses, and coastal communities rely on dependable courier deliveries every day. We recognise the importance of that work and reward our drivers accordingly.
Pegasus Couriers is hiring Courier Drivers in the Scottish Highlands (Inverness, Tain, Dingwall), offering £171-£191 per day. The role includes a company van, fuel card, and local Highland routes starting from the Inverness depot. Apply online for an immediate start.
What You’ll Be Doing
As a courier delivery driver, you’ll operate a delivery van on a structured parcel route across parts of the Scottish Highlands.
Each morning you’ll collect pre-sorted parcels from our Inverness delivery depot. Your parcels and route will already be organised, allowing you to start delivering quickly without complicated sorting.
From there, you’ll drive your assigned route delivering to homes, farms, offices, shops, and rural addresses throughout the Highlands. Our routing technology and GPS navigation guide you from stop to stop.
Once your final delivery is complete, your day is finished. There is no requirement to return to the depot. Most drivers take the van home, ready for the following shift.
This role is designed for drivers who prefer autonomy, open roads, and a clear daily objective.
Key Details & Pay
Daily Pay
Drivers typically earn £171 to £191 per day, depending on route performance and incentives. This provides a steady, predictable income for consistent drivers.
Company Van & Fuel Card
We supply a small to medium wheelbase delivery van and fuel card, meaning you do not pay for fuel, servicing, or general vehicle maintenance. Drivers who already own a suitable delivery van can discuss alternative arrangements as they are able to work when and as they want. Owner drivers are encouraged and do get paid slightly more due to covering their own van costs.
Driver Training
All new drivers receive paid training covering:
- Delivery systems and scanning equipment
- Safe driving practices on Highland roads
- Route planning tools and GPS navigation
- Parcel handling and delivery procedures
Your Daily Life as a Driver
Most shifts begin early in the morning at the Inverness depot, where your parcels are ready and waiting.
Because deliveries are pre-organised by route, drivers can load efficiently and get on the road quickly. Your route may take you through Tain, Dingwall, Invergordon, Alness, and surrounding Highland villages.
Driving across the Highlands means every day looks different. Coastal roads, rural glens, and small communities form part of the job. Wildlife sightings are common, and no two delivery routes are exactly the same.
The work does involve lifting and carrying parcels, so drivers should be comfortable staying active throughout the day. After leaving the depot, you manage your own route and pace.

Q&A’s: What You’re Wondering
Is £171 per day realistic?
Yes. This is the standard daily rate for active drivers completing their routes. Incentives and performance bonuses can increase earnings to around £191 per day. Here is what some of our drivers have to say.
How does winter affect deliveries?
Safety always comes first. When severe weather affects Highland roads, delivery schedules adjust accordingly. Drivers are not expected to operate in dangerous conditions.
Do I need to know every village around Tain or Dingwall?
No. Our route planning software and GPS systems guide you throughout your deliveries. Most drivers quickly become familiar with the areas they serve.
What happens if my van breaks down?
Drivers receive vehicle recovery support and operational assistance. Our team is based locally and understands the geography of the Highlands.
The Reality Check
Highland delivery driving requires commitment. Weather conditions, rural routes, and long drives are part of the role.
However, drivers who enjoy independent work, driving, and rural environments often find this role far more rewarding than traditional jobs.
You’ll earn solid daily pay while working across one of the most scenic regions in the United Kingdom.
Courier roles in this part of the Scottish Highlands are limited and tend to fill quickly due to strong demand.
Inverness: The Hub of the Highlands
Inverness, often described as the capital of the Highlands, has served as a key regional centre for more than a thousand years.
Situated where the River Ness flows into the Moray Firth, the city connects many Highland towns including Tain, Nigg, Dingwall, Alness, and Invergordon.
From this base, delivery routes reach coastal villages, rural farmland, historic towns, and remote communities across northern Scotland. Drivers experience landscapes that many people only see while travelling or on television.

Instead of commuting to an office, you’ll spend your day travelling through Highland roads, coastal routes, and countryside towns. Instead of desk work, you’ll interact directly with residents and businesses who depend on reliable parcel delivery.
The role provides strong daily earnings, independence on the road, and steady delivery work.
